In the morning you will travel to the largest Mayan archaeological site from the Classic period, with 4,000 structures, one of them the tallest in ancient America. It was declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 1979. You will visit the Great Plaza, Temples I, II, III and IV, the "Mundo Perdido" astronomical observation complex and other smaller buildings. 85% of the walk is under the shade of the jungle. At the desired time you will have lunch at the "El Mesón" Restaurant inside the park.

In the morning you will travel to the third largest archaeological site in Guatemala (after Tikal and El Mirador), impressive for the large number of structures very close to each other, many of them built more than 15 centuries ago. You will visit the Temple of the Red Hands, several ceremonial roads, the ball court, the pyramid of sacrifices and others.

They will travel south from Petén to the “La Pasión” River, which is very important for trade between ancient Mayan cities, and will sail on it until they reach the “Ceibal” archaeological site, a Mayan city abandoned more than a millennium ago, now covered by lush tropical rainforest.

In the morning you will be transferred to the pier at Concordia Park. There you will take a boat to visit the Petencito Biological Park, which is a place where they have animals from the Petén jungle that have been confiscated from poachers. In this park you will be able to observe jaguars, crocodiles, deer, parrots, macaws, and coatis, to name a few. Then, on the boat, we will take you to the Mirador del Rey Canek, which is located at the highest part of an archaeological site called “Tayasal” and from there you can admire the entire length and breadth of Lake Petén Itzá and its islands.

Travel to the north of Petén, in the heart of the Mayan Biosphere, to visit the ruins where the first war of conquest in the Mayan region took place. At this archaeological site, you will also visit the most representative astronomical observatory of the Classic period.

Early in the morning you will travel to the southeast of Petén, where you will take a boat along the mystical Petexbatún stream until you reach the lagoon of the same name where there is a large amount of fauna including crocodiles and many fish. At the end of the lagoon is the impressive Mayan site of Aguateca which was built in the late classical period when there were many wars.
The Blue Crater

The El Pucté Wildlife Refuge, located in the Municipality of Las Cruces, Petén, is home to a series of springs and streams with crystal-clear waters, including a large one, the Arroyo el Pucté or the Blue Crater. Most of these natural springs are navy blue or turquoise, and thanks to their crystal-clear waters it is possible to observe the underwater garden hidden beneath them.
